Shawnee Public Schools (SPS) proudly announces that four of its outstanding educators have received top honors at the Oklahoma Library Association (OLA) Awards. The prestigious recognition highlights SPS’s commitment to innovation, technology integration, and student-centered learning.

Shawnee High School Hosts Wolf Extravaganza to Welcome Future Students

Shawnee High School recently hosted the Wolf Extravaganza, an event designed to introduce 8th graders from across the community to the many opportunities available at SHS. During the school day, 300 8th-grade students from local schools visited the high school, where they heard from representatives about various academic programs, extracurricular activities, and athletic opportunities. That evening, parents were invited to learn more about what SHS has to offer their students. READ MORE.

Shawnee High School’s SAGE Program Explores Conservation and Zoo Design at OKC Zoo

Shawnee High School's SAGE program visited the Oklahoma City Zoo to take part in their educational courses. SAGE, which stands for Shawnee Advanced Gifted Education, promotes opportunities in leadership, academics, and the arts.

Shawnee High School Presents Mamma Mia!

Shawnee High School Drama shared an incredible performance of Mamma Mia! with our community. The performances ran from March 13-15 and were a hit!

A huge thank you to
Sovereign Bank Oklahoma for their generous donation to support the Shawnee High School Drama program and the set design of Mamma Mia!

A special shoutout to Art by LeAnne Henry Wright for her incredible work on the set design!

Congratulations Shawnee Swim - 4peat State Champions!

The Shawnee Public Schools Lady Wolves swim team has once again proven their dominance in the pool, securing their fourth consecutive OSSAA 5A State Championship title. The championship meet took place at the Jenks Aquatic Center on Tuesday, February 25th, where the Lady Wolves showcased their strength, determination, and teamwork to continue their historic winning streak.

Will Rogers Sweeps Basketball Intramurals

Last week, the district hosted its intramural basketball tournament, where students showcased their skills and teamwork on the court. Will Rogers Elementary had a standout performance, sweeping the tournament by winning both the boys' and girls' championships. Read more about Shawnee's intramural program here.

Our students had a blast celebrating Read Across America! From silly hats to storytime adventures, the joy of reading was everywhere.

Leadership Shawnee Visits Shawnee Public Schools for Education Day

We were honored to host Shawnee Forward, Inc.’s Leadership Shawnee as part of their Education Day! These community leaders had the opportunity to tour our district, hear from our principals, and even catch some action on the court with our intramural basketball games.

Investing in our schools means investing in the future of Shawnee, and we’re grateful for the chance to share the amazing work happening every day in SPS. Thank you, Leadership Shawnee, for spending the morning with us!
